Regent Hong Kong – A Love Letter To Timeless Luxury By The Harbour

Before stepping into the newly reimagined Regent Hong Kong, it’s worth reflecting on the weight this name carries in the city’s history. Since its debut in 1981, Regent quickly became a symbol of modern luxury, establishing global benchmarks with features like the five-fixture bathroom. Although it was later rebranded as the InterContinental Hong Kong, the property remained an enduring icon along the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront – its presence etched into the city’s collective memory. Now, following an extensive transformation, Regent Hong Kong has reemerged, not merely as a hotel but as a redefined chapter of its storied heritage.

From the moment the car glides to a stop, the shift is evident – Tsim Sha Tsui’s restless energy gives way to hushed elegance. A cascading Feng Shui fountain signals the transition, while doormen, polished yet unobtrusive, guide guests through a space designed by Hong Kong-born architect Chi Wing Lo. The lobby opens up to a floor-to-ceiling view that leaves visitors momentarily speechless. It’s Hong Kong as it has always been, but from here, it feels like an entirely new vantage point.

The Art Of Doing Nothing, Elevated

The Harbourview Suite with Spa Bath feels like an invitation to slow down and take in Hong Kong from a new perspective. Its expansive windows frame an ever-shifting portrait of Victoria Harbour – capturing the morning light spilling over the skyline, the golden hour’s soft glow, and the electric pulse of neon as night descends. A plush window-front daybed makes it easy to linger, turning the view into an experience in itself. Inside, the design is refined – warm wood tones, soft neutrals, and contemporary furnishings that never compete with the scenery. Carefully considered details, like discreet storage and an intuitive digital guide to hotel services, ensure everything you need is within reach, without ever cluttering the space.

Entertainment is designed to feel equally intuitive. Complimentary on-demand films are available for nights spent in, but the true highlight lies in the suite’s Oasis Bathroom. A deep spa bath, fitted with jacuzzi jets and customisable lighting, transforms a simple soak into a full sensory escape. A rainfall shower and double wash basins add to the sense of ease, while Perricone MD bath amenities bring a touch of opulence. Even the turn-down service offers a twist – each night, instead of the usual chocolate, a different sample-sized luxury skincare product awaits. It’s a small touch, but one that lingers – much like the rest of the suite. If there’s one room to book at Regent Hong Kong, this is it.

More Than Hospitality

Booking a suite also comes with an added privilegeexclusive access to the Regent Club. Tucked beyond a dramatic moongate entrance, the club’s space is as much about its atmosphere as it is about its offerings. Different seating zones cater to every kind of moment: window-side tables for uninterrupted vistas, intimate alcoves for quiet conversations, and plush teal-walled corners perfect for lingering over afternoon tea. From sunrise to sundown, the Club flows in harmony with the rhythm of the day. It begins with a semi-buffet breakfast that presents a range of international and locally inspired dishes, transitions into delicate pastries and fragrant teas in the afternoon, and lastly gives way to an elegant affair of handcrafted cocktails and gourmet bites in the evening. Yet, the true luxury lies in the way the service makes every moment feel tailor-made just for you.

Attentive yet discreet, the staff seem to anticipate needs before they are voiced. The Regent Experience Agent, available at a moment’s notice, ensures that no request is too small nor that any celebration is overlooked. A birthday is not just acknowledged but celebrated in ways that feel deeply personal – from surprise cakes and Champagne to heartfelt greetings from staff who remember your name. These gestures extend even further: a framed photograph from breakfast, captured without expectation and presented as a keepsake, speaks volumes about their commitment to making memories tangible. This level of hospitality transcends the expected, turning every interaction into something meaningful and every moment into something worth cherishing.

Wellness Without Limits

Here, the pursuit of wellness is not an afterthought but an integral part of the Regent experience. The hexagonal outdoor pool, adorned with deep blue mosaic tiles, shimmers under the sunlight – its surface mirroring the gentle ripples of the water. Surrounded by private daybeds, you’re invited to pause and savour calm moments, while attentive staff are on hand to deliver refreshments and cater to your every comfort. At the far end of the terrace, three infinity spa pools – each set to a different temperature – provide the ultimate way to unwind. As you relax, sweeping views of Hong Kong’s skyline lend a cinematic grandeur to the moment.

A brief stroll away, the 24-hour Technogym upgrades the concept of a hotel fitness centre. Spacious and outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment that integrates excellently with personal workout apps, the facility provides a personalised fitness experience tailored to your routine. From strength training and cardio sessions to interactive mini-games, there’s options abound for all levels of fitness enthusiasts. Seeking a gentler pace? The yoga deck provides a peaceful space for stretching, mindfulness, and meditation.

A Feast For The Senses

With wellness and fitness integrated into your stay, indulgence naturally becomes an essential part of the experience as well. Known as the city’s finest buffet, Harbourside takes things a step further with Ciro d’Italia, a celebration of Italian cuisine brought to life by Culinary Director Ciro Petrone. When we visited for lunch, every station felt like a heartfelt homage to authentic Italian flavours – handmade pasta tossed in a Parmesan wheel, Eggs in Purgatory bursting with rich tomatoes and garlic, and Neapolitan pizza with the perfect crisp-yet-chewy crust. The dessert selection was equally remarkable. A live crêpe station filled the air with the scent of warm batter, while a range of sweet creations tempted at every turn. Though the Italian-inspired dishes stole the spotlight, Harbourside remained true to its roots, with classics like expertly carved Peking duck, a fresh sushi station, and other signature dishes that have long been favourites.

Memories of sumptuous meals, flawless service, and calming views of Hong Kong’s skyline remain vivid in our minds. With a final glance, the feeling is unmistakable – this was more than just a visit; it was an experience that left an imprint. As we settle into the car, the gentle hum of the city seems worlds away, and we know we’ll carry the serenity gained here with us long after we leave.
